Stella Jansen is an Amsterdam-based novelist, poet, and former international jazz vocalist whose life has taken her from the stages of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Doelen in Rotterdam to the Supper Clubs of New York, the Inter-Continental Hotels of Kabul and Tehran, and the sun-drenched hills of Ibiza. She studied at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam and recorded her debut album at Radio City Music Hall Sound Studios in New York.
Her writing has appeared in literary magazines across the United States, Canada, and England. In 1993 she won First Prize in the Bay Area Poetry Coalition in Berkeley, California with her poem Baby To Be Born. Her debut novel The Unforeseen was published in 2022. She is currently completing her second novel, Facing the Music, set on the island of Cyprus.
Two Dutch-language novels are currently under development.
